The Last Colony - John Scalzi I distinctly remember reading this, but not when?
The Android's Dream - John Scalzi I liked the idea and it was normal Scalzi, but whether because of my mood or something else, I wasn't quite as enamoured with it as I typically am.
Court Duel - Sherwood Smith Could have been a little bit more tightly written plot-wise but again, I quite enjoyed it.
Crown Duel (Crown & Court, #1) - Sherwood Smith I really liked this, would have liked to see a neater but slightly more drawn out ending but otherwise a fun book.
The Assassin and the Princess - Sarah J. Maas Did I choose this because it strongly reminded me of Poison Study? Perhaps. Is it good in its own right? For sure.
Silver Phoenix - Cindy Pon I've decided once I've gotten 50% into a book and I still don't like it there's nothing to be had for it, so thus my new shelf. I get it, it's meant for a younger audience than me (but so is most of what I read) but I found it pretty lacking even considering I read it to broaden my SFF picks to be more diverse.
The Crown of Embers - Rae Carson Can't wait to read the next book.
Out - Natsuo Kirino, Stephen Snyder A super disturbing and creepy thriller on so many levels. The last chapter made me want to pull my skin off, yeesh.
The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires - Molly Harper Perhaps I went through such a bad stretch of books I'm more forgiving, but this book is funny and just entertaining enough.
Without a Summer (Glamourist Histories) - Mary Robinette Kowal I don't know exactly what it is about these Regency fantasy books I find so charming but this series is delightful.
Crazy Rich Asians - Kevin Kwan I laughed several times each chapter. Even though I'm unfamiliar with Singapore, I sure as hell want to go now. The food descriptions were to die for and I love and loathe each one of the characters. This is the best recent read in a while.
Grimspace - Ann Aguirre Read it because I love Ann Aguirre's post about sexism in SF although it is really not my kind of thing. Torn on whether to continue but it was a good read.
Eve of Darkness - S.J. Day Took me forever to get through, only finished because I started. Ugh.
Glamour in Glass - Mary Robinette Kowal Charming, ot the best I've read but compared to the drivel I've read lately this was enjoyable.
Slumber - Samantha Young I have some serious issues with this book despite liking the romance so much esp. around the way sexual violence are used as plot devices.
The Sacred Band - David Anthony Durham One of the more unique epic fantasies I've read and it took me quite a while to get through, but it was fitting.
